Send Us the Dealer's Key Quote, Get Ours Back by Text
Send us the quote the dealer gave you, by text or the form below, and we reply with our number for the same key at your car, usually within 15 minutes during open hours.
This is a side-by-side comparison, not a promise to undercut any figure. You show us what the dealer wrote down, we price the identical key with the drive, cutting and programming included, and you decide.
On chip, remote and smart keys, our number typically lands 40 to 55 percent under the dealer's. Their quote often leaves out the $100 to $180 programming charge the service department adds, and the $125 to $200 flatbed if no key starts the car. On a key with no chip at all the two figures sit close together, and our reply will say so plainly.
Why we ask for the quote
It names the exact key
Most dealer quotes list the part number or key description the parts counter pulled up for your VIN. That tells us whether the car takes a chip key, a remote head key or a push-to-start fob, so we price the same part and not a close cousin of it.
It shows the difference in one text
With the dealer's figure sitting next to ours, you see the gap in dollars without calling around or doing math. Our reply names the same key, one number with the drive inside, and any line the dealer total leaves out, such as the tow or the separate labor charge.
It takes the guessing out
Without the quote, a key is a range, because the same model can take a chip key one year and a smart fob a few years later, or differ by trim level. The quote pins the key down, so the number we send is the number you pay when the key works.
Questions people ask
Is this a promise to beat any quote?
No, it is a straight comparison. We reply with our number for the same key made at your car, and you judge the gap yourself. On chip, remote and smart keys ours typically comes in 40 to 55 percent below the dealer. On a basic key with no chip the two numbers are close, and the reply tells you that.
What should the dealer quote show?
The year, make and model, the part number or key description, and each line with its dollar figure. A screenshot of the text or email from the service desk works, and so does a photo of a printed estimate. If the dealer only read you a number over the phone, type it in with the car details and we identify the key from the VIN.
How fast do you reply?
Usually within 15 minutes during open hours, which run 7 AM to 9 PM every day. A quote sent after 9 PM gets its answer the next morning. The reply is one number for the same key with the drive, the cutting, the programming and the one-year warranty already inside, so nothing gets added at the car.
What if my car needs a key only the dealer can supply?
Then the reply says so. Most Mercedes-Benz models from 2014 on take a key issued only through a Mercedes dealer, and a number of 2019 and later BMW models follow suit. In that case the dealer quote you sent is the route to take, and we would rather tell you in a text than make a drive that ends with no key.
Do I need a dealer quote to get your number?
No. Call or text (619) 340-1518 with the year, make and model, and we quote on the phone before we drive. The dealer quote is simply the quickest way to put both numbers side by side, and it settles which key the car takes. Either way, you pay by card or cash once the new key works.
